B. J. Blazkowicz is once again set to battle the forces of evil; in the meantime some plot details, gameplay mechanics and screenshots have been unveiled from this new iteration of the id Software owned franchise, developed by long time partner Raven Software.

The game is called RockFree, and can be played online. Maybe is not like the real deal (you don’t have instruments, for instance…), but the Free tag should be an incentive to play! Considering the amount of cash I spent in RB DLC, this sounds like an alternative….but only if they let me use my RB instruments!

Crytek is showcasing their new engine. Everybody knows how amazing the Crysis games are. Sure, you need a behemoth of a machine to run these games in full detail, but if you have played them like this, you know how incredibly real everthing looks. Now they are showing us the new one, and I must say it looks pretty breathtaking. This engine is scheduled to debut in the next generation of game consoles (namely the PS4), probably around 2011 and 2012. In the meantime, feast your eyes with the newest demo….
Our favourite wacko is at it again! Jack Thompson has sent a letter to President Obama asking him to ban all “murder simulators”. He states games like Doom are this type of simulators, and that people “train” on them in order to go and kill other people, like in high school shooting sprees like Columbine and the such. I don’t know about your high school, but mine wasn’t populated by demons, so Doom wouldn’t have been a lot of help on teaching me how to kill people in it….Also, I’ve never used a rifle in my life, but I’m pretty sure they don’t come with settings to use it with a mouse and keyboard setup. How exactly do you “train” with Doom???? Well, if you are up to it, you can check out the full letter….
